Snorkeling
Snorkeling is a fun-filled inexpensive family activity. Snorkeling may be enjoyed by anyone, whether they are 3 or 93. Through our snorkeling trips, we here at the Panama City Dive Center have made snorkeling easy and fun for the novice to the experienced. Snorkeling trips are three hours duration. The trip starts on the back side of Shell Island in an area known as the grassy flats. The grass flats are two to six feet deep. They contain a wide variety of shells, various crab species, and small tropical fish. From the grass flats, the Captain will take you in the Gulf to the front side of the island (weather permitting.) This area is where pods of dolphins tend to congregate. Our captains are successful in finding a pod of dolphins approximately 95% of time. Once a pod is located, the captain will pull close to them to allow everyone to observe and take pictures of them. We highly recommend that you bring along a camera to capture the moments. Family member who do not wish to swim or snorkel may go on the boat as an observer. Panama City Dive Center's snorkeling trips are the best family entertainment value on the beach.
For those of you that wish to take the snorkeling adventure on your own, the St Andrews State Park jetties are fantastic. The park is located a mere on-eight of a mile from Panama City Dive Center's beach location. St. Andrews is best known for its beautiful beaches, aquatic creatures, wildlife, and preserved natural settings. We at the PCDC want you to think of our beach location as your snorkeling headquarters.
